158 People Rescued From Labor Trafficking Operation
Destiny Rescue collaborated with authorities to free the captives from an illegal call center.
The victims, 42 of whom were children, had been trapped in a pig butchering operation. Organized criminals lure their targets from all over Asia with the promise of high-paying tech jobs before imprisoning them in the call center. Once trapped, traffickers force the victims to scam others over the phone or online. The hours are brutal, and the pressure is intense; failure can result in torture or being sold into sex trafficking.
For these 158 people, the nightmare is finally over. Our teams helped debrief the survivors before working with authorities to get them home safe. Read more about pig butchering and what we’re doing to help.
