UPDATE: The case featuring The PREDA Foundation’s allegations that Destiny Rescue was involved in the abuse of minors was resolved and dismissed by the Office of the City Prosecutor of Olongapo City on December 15, 2021.
We take offense to these irresponsible and unsubstantiated claims. We will take necessary actions against PREDA if it continues its harassment of our organization through the untruthful, derogatory statements it makes against us.
On August 20, 2021, Destiny Rescue was made aware of multiple allegations made against rescue agents in the Philippines. The complaint letter, shared by the PREDA Foundation via an email, accused Destiny Rescue agents of sexually abusing children during undercover rescue operations.
Due to the serious nature of the allegations, Destiny Rescue leaders have conducted an internal investigation and further endorsed the complaint to the Philippine National Police on September 1, 2021. We also learned that on September 2, 2021, PREDA has referred the same complaint to the National Bureau of Investigation for further investigation.
We have followed up the case with the National Bureau of Investigation and Philippine National Police and expressed our full cooperation on their investigations which we believe, shall soon uncover the truth about these alleged incidents.
Destiny Rescue assures our stakeholders that our commitment to protect and rescue children from human trafficking and sexual exploitation remains solid while also ensuring that no further harm is being inflicted to children during the process.
Destiny Rescue Philippines has not, in any way, authorized any operation which led to the sexual abuse of children. These allegations by PREDA are baseless and unfounded and are merely intended to smear the name of our organization.
